This is a Squinx (Sphinx + square) that I built on the server I play on.

On the server the people playing SMP are (mostly) blockheads and the Squinx is basically a place for Op's to go and get rid of their stuff when they opt to play survival.

It's based on the Sphinx of Egypt, but with a blockhead head (the same I use as it is).

In game it's the tomb of Blockhankhamon. The God turned mortal.

I tried to give it the same following-eye-effect as the blockhead skins and I think I managed pretty well.

The head is 16 by 16 blocks to give you a feel for the size.

It's built completely free-hand (no mods), the material however has been willed into existance (used my Op powers) so not mined.

It's completely finished with temple inside and a lava pool for burning everything you gave yourself as an Op. The top of the head and the eyes and mouth are infused with lightstone to prevent mob spawning and also it gave a nice effect at night.

Using a custom version of the Painterly Pack as texture pack.

Additional Notes

Give me a shout if there's an angle you'd like to see that isn't covered.
Also, the head is hollow and has a fairly hidden way up, but I opted to not spam you with pictures. On request pictures of the inside can be added.

Absolutely brilliant. Very entertaining how you used your own logo. :) Nice choice of words for the pool of cleansing. Very ceremonial like.

only bad thing i can say is that the head is quite large, i thought the sphinx's head was smaller compared to this:P

I know. This is because I started with the head and had the measurements that one pixel would be 2x2 blocks (a head on a skin is 8x8 pixels). Then when that was done I realized that this would make the body friggin huge and also would require lifting the head higher. Instead I opted for the smaller body, though as an end result I think it gives it a kind of comic look that fits the theme.
