"The war between the Ironclad Empire and the forces of Nether waged for years, with little to no success coming to light. The literal power struggle was claiming countless lives on both sides all the while countless battles were being waged all over the galaxy. The end seemed near, and it was going to be a terrible loss. Ships could only maintain their Dimensional Gateways for only so long, and for entire fleets to escape from battles, at least one ship had to stay behind to sacrifice itself, its crew, to let the others escape. We could only go so far. It was at that time when we started to become more desperate than ever.


Fleets of Engineers and scientists worked for weeks in the dark, only to come up with nothing, no end to our struggle, no ultimate victory, and only utter defeat. Masses of powerful Glowstone were pulled from reserves to test and retest various machines and contraptions that could save us, but all ended in failure. Hope to win seemed lost, and it really was.


That is, until two students at the Theoretical Astrophysics College in Colum City found a solution. Not fixated on the war effort, but on sciences they pursued a lifelong ambition to realize the dreams of one Daniel Voxxen - a hopeless renegade scientist long thought to be dead and insane - a rift that can traverse whole dimensions altogether, and can transport anyone or anything across any distance, regardless of spatial differences before. Unlike the Dimensional Gateways the Strong Battleships carried, these Gateways could stay open and send whole armadas through space and stay open for the return home.

But that never was the idea for Voxxen.

His idea was to use this machine for exploration. Traversing the cosmos by ship could take thousands of years; his machine could do it in seconds. Voxxen was only able to come up with a rough blueprint of his gateway before he suddenly and mysteriously disappeared, soon fading into rumor that he even existed.

These two students soon built their first prototype. Based off of existing gateway designs, they incorporated a spinning circle on a horizontal axis so it would not only create a portal, but a wormhole as well. They used confined centrifugal force to allow the rift to stay open once activated, and happily celebrated once their experiment was completed.


The two students soon presented their "little" project to the Planetary Sciences Board of Directors and were implemented for use in the civilian sector. It wouldn’t take too long for the Military to find out about the project and the plans were seized, modified, implemented, and built.


We have ourselves another war now, but it continues on a new front. Just as in ancient times ships sailed across the ocean, we did so with the stars, Aircraft soon came flying in and the world changed, now we fly on a new plane of existence, far into the unknown. Well, that’s enough for story time now, but don’t worry! We will continue our story next time children! The End, is near."
