This will be my largest single build to date, completely legit in survival mode. I have taken the basic floor plan from an old historic building somewhere in Europe and will be recording each step and every block placed or removed on camera. As I build this project I will be providing clues both here and on the videos.
The Roof is Nearly Complete!
I have not built a cathedral before so I thought I would give it a shot in my single player world that I have named The Wolf Den. This building was inspired by the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris France and will contain a water theme, with a large central pool and numerous water falls.
All of the buildings shown in the backgrounds of photos and videos is from my Wolf Den town. If you would like to watch me building this legit town from scratch here is a link for the entire playlist. The Wolf Den Playlist
The seed shown only works for updates 1.0 and 1.1.
(RAW is an experimental YouTube series where I actually build everything on camera and discuss how I design, plan and the techniques I use when building large structures in a legit survival world. Please be patient this building process can be quite slow, as I would like to present every step and mistake I make on the videos above.)
EDIT: 08/29/2012 "I have decided to forgo the RAW style for a more progressive style of LP with brief progress reports and updates"
Edit: 08/29/2012 "At this stage of the build (30%) I am currently working on adding some of the more artistic stonework features around the outsides of the ground floor"
Edit: 09/26/2012 "At this stage of the build (60%) I am currently working on finishing up the roof as well as working on some of the interior decor."
I will continue to build this project in 1.2.4 even though 1.3.2 is already out. The new features such as the stairs and halfslabs may see me updating this map sooner rather than later.
(The world download is my town right before I started working on this project. A more up-to-date download will be available after I announce my inspiration for this build.)

Actually I have answers for all those questions :D
1. Maybe 6 Months
2. I am still working on it, but I took all of last summer so far.
3. Not counting times I didnt die, maybe 20-30 deaths on this project so far.
4. There is a massive mine that covers most of the area under the city, a giant mob trap cut out of the mountain, and the beginings of a 5 chunk slime farm. So yes there are alot of big holes. Oh and I leveled a few hills too.
