Built a giant mushroom base on my friend's 1.12.2 server a while back. I'm not totally happy with the cap to stem ratio, I think the cap is a bit too big still but overall I think it's pretty neat.
I included windows along the central east-west axis of the cap to be able to see the sun/moon rise and set. It's only 95% done because I might tweak the cap some more, possibly to include some white spots and mess with the size a bit.
Obviously it still needs an interior but this server is heavily modded and I get overwhelmed about all the splendiferous possibilities. Mod list is the final screengrab.

I've had an upscaled red muchroom on my round2it list for quite some time (although I've been more-or-less planning on directly scaling up the vaniulla gint red mushroom propotions)…
Seeing this makes me think I may need to rethink that concept as this looks much better than what I had envisioned. [I've doen some other direct scaleups and they seem to fall a bit flat.]
It's hard to tell without an exterior N-S shot, but I thank the cap:stem ratio is fine WRT height, but the stem may be a little slender, and that the flare where the stem meets the ground may be taller than one would expect. (It should be noted that I'm far from expert on what IRL mushrooms look like… so take that with considerable salt.)
This was a rly nice comment to receive and I appreciate your input re: the cap/stem ratio :D
