Todai-ji - Realm of Golden Orioles and The House of Dark Lotus Blossom Petals
Quite a name huh? The map is a gigantic handmade Oriental garden 6 region files in size which is engineered to be explored.
Video was produced by MiniMoose - It's covers a small portion of map
Here is MiniMoose's channel [bgcolor=#fff]https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpGN7TCyq8z94xM-1AY6NNA[/bgcolor]
There is some important info here so keep reading
This is not a single ultra mega build that we are accustomed to seeing, instead it's one huge garden. The emphasis here is on the landscape and trees. You will see a lot of trees and flowers, mountains, valleys and waterfalls. The buildings are still large, but personal, playable and interactive instead of being hollow.
This is an intense landscape and I had a tough time making renders and screenshots that would be appealing. All renders are pure Chunkers (thats slang for Chunky) and eihort
Textures are Default and AuraCraft Resurrection - which I created
The amount of detail in this map is beyond the scope of any render or long distance viewing program that I know of. If you want to experience this as it is intended you must explore the actual map in person. All interiors are furnished.
I’ve got some selfish reasons for creating this map. Long ago I saw some pics of Todai-ji Temple. A few people attempted to recreate it in minecraft but I think they fell short.
I loved the way it looked in real life so I made it my personal mission to recreate Todai-ji in a manner that was so astounding and superior, no one would ever attempt it again without dripping fail sauce down their chin and onto their clothes.
This is not an exact replica of the real thing. It is my interpretation of what it should look like in minecraft.
Here are a few things I want you to keep in mind when exploring
1. The most important thing is the landscape – It should compliment the buildings. The opposite is also true; the buildings should compliment the terrain. Symbolism is a big part of Asian architecture so these builds will have lots of natural elements. The hanging lanterns represent nests of orioles.
2. Todai-ji Palace/House of Dark Lotus Blossom Petals itself and the subterranean gardens underneath it. Go there! It will blow your mind dude!
3. Golden Oriole Shrine – you will figure out which one it is. It’s symbolic of a flock of orioles taking flight.
4. The Mogul Style dome arboretum and its bamboo gardens
5. What I call the Christmas Tree Pagoda. It has the same style as the Spring and Autumn Pagoda but is larger and more elaborate. I don’t have a proper name for it yet.
6. The Harpsichord Tree – the first of its kind ever seen on PlanetMinecraft. People visit this place to remember those who are loved but lost. Spirits of the dead blossom as flowers. If you are feeling sentimental visit this location - you will figure out which tree this is on your own.
7. There are additional ancillary buildings lying around that do add to the overall appearance, but are of minor importance.
Something else to consider. I have chosen musical accompaniments that coincide with this map and you should play them while exploring at least once.
The following are fan made vidoes, I did not upload them.
The first song is “secret love” by Nicos [bgcolor=#fff]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL4-xVLUwxQ[/bgcolor]
Than “trail of angels” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABOxTtxJxNw
Which should be followed by “Dance Music About Tea Plucking”
[bgcolor=#fff]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7WJDgqqW8E&index=2&list=PLCADE8085D8B95A88[/bgcolor]
These accompaniments should enhance your experience while you explore, should you choose to download the map.
There is a plank trail that snakes around the map that offer incredible veiws. I suggest you ride a horse or walk along this trail before flying around.
Should you find yourself all derped up the intended spawn is
