I like the redstone power blocks on the side, it makes everything more compact. But you don't actually need the redstone torches or dust on top of the pistons. Those items make the design not flush.

Cool design but it's not flush :/. You can't place a flat floor across the top because of the torches and redstone on top of the pistons.
