pjay a simple-ish way to make actual fire charges "explode" is to have an execute command at them, like "/execute @e[type=SmallFireBall,rm=15,r=300] ~ ~ ~ /summon PrimedTnt ~ ~2 ~ [Fuse:1]", being run on a very fast clock.

they are ghast balls lol but i edit them so they explode in a much larger way

you can make fire charges explode but it takes a bit of shenanigans (i think i put them on my explorator if you want to see how thatmworks)
