Requires Minecraft 1.8 or higher!

This is ... Chess in Minecraft. Grab a friend and get together to play Chess together. There are User Manual's at spawn, but in case you're curious, I'll explain it here too!

Now, on the sides of the boards you'll notice signs labeled 'Column A' or 'Row 1'. Find the coordinate of the piece you want to move. Over on one side of the board is a cyan colored roof of stained glass. Under that roof are command blocks aligned as the board grid is. Simply find the coordinate of the piece you want to move, and press the button. Then, go to the orange colored roof of stained glass, and find the coordinate you want to move the piece to, and press the button. Bam! The piece has been moved! If you find any bugs, please leave a comment below so I can fix it for everyone.

Finally, if you want to make a video or place this map on a server, feel free to. Please credit to Gartonia and leave a link/IP address in the comments below.

Features:
Two player chess in Minecraft in which you can:
Customize pieces (complete)
Place pieces on chess board with the touch of a button (complete)
Reset board (complete)
Eternal Day/No Rain (complete)
Fix a bug where only some of the piece teleporters work (complete)
Piece moveability (complete)

Things I'm planning to do:
Fix error where White Queen's Knight spawns with extra staircase (unstarted, don't know cause of bug)
Possibly move around a few things to make it look nicer (unstarted, still deciding if I will)
Fix any bugs people find (nobody's reported an unsolved bug yet)

Frequently Asked Questions:
Is there an artificial intelligence?
No, I'm afraid not. While it is theoretically possible to do in Minecraft, the task would be unimaginably complex and beyond my ability.

What if I select the wrong piece by accident?
Simply go under the orange colored stained glass roof and press the button corresponding with the coordinate the piece came from.

Can I make my own pieces?
Yes! The in-game User Manual provides detailed instructions on how to do this.

How long did this take to make?
From start to finish, this took about 24 days.

Could I use banners for the pieces? I have a set designed.

While I'm not positive (since banners are entities not blocks), I do believe that banners should work. Simply remove the blocks that make up the original set off to the side, and place the banners where the center of the pieces was. If banners will work, that should be all you'll have to do.

I will keep an eye out on this project to see how it develops.
As you say it is currently effectively 0. Personally I guess it will be hard since the commandblocks aren´t really mc-editable (correct me if I am wrong).

Anyway time will tell if this project gets better than my commandblock free chess project.

Yeah, I'm doing it all by hand. It builds character. I'm also not very good with MCedit.

It's not necessarily hard, it's pretty simple. The big part is having to do it over and over again for each space and all it's possible move-to's.

Also, just discovered your chess project, and I have to say I'm impressed.

If it's finished, I can put it on a sevrer network... With the credits to you, and your Planet Minecraft account.
But only if you agree. -staff member JollyCraft

That would be awesome, feel free to do so once it's complete! I suppose you could do it before it's complete too, but I don't know why you would want to. Anyway, it does generate some lag, with the beacons and redstone and whatnot, so be wary of that.

That doesn't matter ;), the server runs with command blocks. It's vanilla. So no plugins are used for any of these things. We are looking for minigames the people made by their selfe... Without any plugins/mods. And yours is one of them.
Sorry for our late respond.

Not a problem, I understand how busy things can get. Anyway, the project has been completed, feel free to place it on your server. All I require is a sign giving credit to me somewhere (use the name Gartonia).
