Overview:
Under Spawnington is the nether spawn on the Big Sister server. It features many commodities for players new and old alike to use freely. Originally just a blaze farm, I built up a cobblestone area around it so that it would be safe to travel to for players who did not want to be harassed by ghasts flying around. Eventually the cobblestone was replaced with quartz and the floor was flattened and made mob proof for an even better experience. As the place was originally built in 1.6.4, before carpets were solid and blocked mob spawning, the floor is mostly made of glass and glowstone.
Blaze Farm:
The blaze farm is the oldest part of the Under Spawnington area. With redstone imported from a server close to our own, it served players with both blaze rods and experience points. However, during an update, the redstone that operated it stopped functioning. The redstone went unfixed and the blaze farm useless for a long time. Eventually I decided to work on it and nearly completely redid all of the redstone from scratch around late 2014 or early 2015. It has since been redone again with cleaner wiring behind the scenes and a new on/off switch for lag reduction.
Farms, Villager Trading, Brewery, Forge, and Enchanting area:
Many of the features of Under Spawnington are designed to give players quick access to many things. Many of the work stations are set up and constantly stocked in order to provide a smooth experience for anyone looking to use them. The furnaces always have blaze rods as fuel. Anvils are always replaced at the enchanting room, and the farms are harvested often with the crops stored in publicly accessible chests for people to come pick up.
Overworld Nature Park:
The Overworld Nature Park is built in a dome over the lava lake underneath Under Spawnington. The area was originally going to be used for housing, but I scrapped that idea during the building process. Instead, players can now have a slice of the overworld while visiting the nether. (Give or take water and zombie pigmen)
