Not everyone appreciates complexity I assume.

Yeah but there's been plenty of complex redstone inventions/mechanisms that have gotten popular. If it's not complex then it probably is not good enough/has lots of problems. Complexity allows for there to be less errors and work more efficiently.

People tend to not see the potential of stuff that has not alot to show in the visual aspect. Most people only care about the visual aspect of concepts. If you have something that looks cool but is totally useless apart from having video content and is easy to create will in most cases get more attention than for example things that might be better and more diffcult to create but don't look that fancy in the first place. For video content it comes down to how it looks for the majority. That's at least what I learned from my videos and analizing the details about them.

Yeah that's true. Honestly I think though that this concept would be really good for Adventure maps, especially loosing Stamina when attacking. It could really up the challenge of the maps by forcing the player to space out their attacks and not just spam.

That was the idea when I created it. The updated version I made for 1.8 which isn't public yet works really well and now properly differentiates between different kinds of movements. I'm pretty satisfied with the concept and it was a pain to get this all figured out but that is not what counts in most cases on youtube :)
