Well, it is finally here after much procrastination, working on and off for a year, taking breaks and doing other project. May I present to you part of Vivec City, my take on it. Now I am only around 50% done on this project. The city walls are about 350x350 blocks, this is not including the surounding island.  There are 18 cantons, including an arena, palace, market, inn, mage guild, fighters guild, fishing guild, temple and high fane.

Some lore if you want to read it in the spoiler, it is pretty long. Sorry for my grammar and spelling mistakes.
Spoiler - click to reveal
There are six houses represented in the city. They are Hlaalu, Redoran, Telvanni, Dagoth, Indoril, and Sotha. Each house maintains their home island and a house canton in the city. The other two catons are then used to further thier agendas.

House Hlaalu are the most open to outsider's and let them into their three cantons. The Hlaalu have tryed to make trading ties with every kingdon in the land. Subsequently House Hlaalu is the most distursted of all the house even with thier great wealth.  They runs cantons catering to foreign people, dubbed The Foreign Quarter by the other houses. Hlaalu runs a inn and a market in theie other two catons, while exepting outsiders into their house ranks in their caton HQ. Their HQ is instantly recognize by the colossus seen atop it. The heads of their shiping company keeps to the tower in the Hlaalu side of the city. Even though outsiders are allowed to roam the Hlaalu caton's if they are seen in other part of the city they are put to death.  House Hlaalu's dock are located outside the city, because of not being trusted by the other houses. In the space between cantons you have Little Pelagiad and a large warehouse. Hlaalu's Seat of power ouside the city is Balmora.

House Redorn is the most loyal of the great house. They control the military of Vivec, runnig both the Navy and the the standing troops. They however do not police they city, that is left up to another house. The seat of power of House Redoran is Ald Varvur, with is magnificent Skaar.  After saving the city when ever it was attack, House Redoran was given a now tower build outside of the city the only one of its kind. On their side of the city is the ashlander's camp belonging to the Zainab. After the building of the City many ashlanders were killed. House Redoran alowwed the Zainab to continue living if they provided the Redoran with guar hides and wickwheat. After many battles the damaged the Redoran Caton's they created contrustion dock to keep all the repair supplies. Not far from these dock are located Dwemer of Nchuleft which provide much insight into the workings of magic. Discoveries found their are sold to House Telvanni and House Sotha. In between the canton there is two small farms and an outdoor market.

House Telvanni are the cities local mages, they are an old house. They are fear and respected for the power they hold, thought they prefer to the the running of their holdings to others. Subsequently Telvanni Canton's are all run by Guilds, The Mercenary League, The Magus Consortium and The Sea Rulers. The Mercenary League is the muscle of House Telvanni used to enforce the will of the magelords. The League is also hired frequently by House Redoran when dealing with problem in other land. These mercenaries are trained scine birth to be the best warriors around, they are train in the ways of the outside world and because of this are very wealthy. The Magus Consortuim is were all aspiring mages go to learn of magic, and maybe join House Telvanni. The Consortium's Canton is loctated where the Telvanni  HQ should be. As for The Sea rulers, well it is just a fancy name for tthat the fishermen gave themselves to seem important.  The seat of power out Side the city for House Telvanni is Tel Dres. The floating mushroom stronghold was rumored to be helped given fight by House Sotha. This of coarse is denied by House Telvanni. Gnaar Mok is a sort of float market where the poor of House Telvanni live. Between cantons are mushroom pod where low to mid level Telvanni live.

House Dagoth is an old house with a troubled past. They once were the protector's of the land before there was even a city. After their house leader betrayed the other houses and was executed the house to a much darker path.  Slavery is still legal according to ancient tradition, but only House Dagoth actively seeks out people for capture. Their bigest custoner is House Telvanni who uses the slaves for mundane tasks. House Hlaalu do not use slaves to stay in good standing with outside powers and House Redoran is neutral on the subject. The seat of power outside the city is the jungle island of Molag-Mar home to smugglers and Daedra worshippers and their slave market.  The three cantons of House Dagoth are the arean, poor housing and their HQ. The HQ canton is mostly empty with only hermit living their. House Dagoth used to hold the majority of prisoners in the stronghold Hlormaren, now run down and overgrown is used to scare first time offenders. In between cantons you have to slums where the poorest of the poor live and all manner of drugs can be purchased. It is rumored House Dagoth is ploting against the other houses and are worshipping their long dead former house leader Dagoth-Ur.

House Indoril is a small house, but is currently in charge of policing the city and their guards can be see all most every where. They were essential in creating what is now know as one of the greatest cities ever made. They maintain one canton connected directly to the palace an honor shared only with House Sotha. Even though they are small they have influence over the other houses because of their position.  As of late they have been busy dealing with House Dagoth's crime, drugs and Daedra worshipping.

House Sotha is also a small house, but again has much influence.  They are the head of the must advance technology produced for the city. They where at the head of keeping the moon that would later serve as a prison for the most vile of criminal  flying int he sky above the High Fane.  As previously mentioned the maintain one canton that is conected directly to the palace and is restricted to all except the highest ranking officals.  Even then are only allowed with an invitation. Many houses would like to learn the secrets of House Sotha especially Hous Telvanni.  The exact origins of the house are kept as one of their many secrets, but rumor has it the were osme how conected to a god.

Finally we have the ruling entity of Vivec City. I say entity because no one outside the city have any idea who or what is in charge.  Some say in is a House velothi, some had to create the style many of the local refer to. Other belive is is a council made up of the great houses, othersw still believe it to be a god. Yeah right, might even be a magiacal guar.  Very few people are aloud to see theupper levels of the palace, and of the outisders you could count it on one hand. The High Fane leads to the palace and is the head of the religion of the city. The temple located behind the palace and is also restricted except to those of the Tribunal. It is said there is a portal to another realm below the temple, but the maze makes this story one hard to confirm.

I took a lot of inspiration from the people and this project would not be as good as it is. So make sure to chack them out if you want to learn how to build even better.

Huggers built an amazing High Fane and and mine would be nothing without the reference.

http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/glorfy/ The Morrowind Reborn inspired many builds, mostly my rebuild of my old cantons

http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/suicia1_m0nkey/ My first mushroom sucked, but after seeing the mushrooms from this person, I just had to redo mine and work on another.

This ship building master taught me a lot on the subject.

http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/eagoy/ Without Eagoy I would have had no idea how to make Redoran style homes.

http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/aurelien_sama/ Also I use a map made by Aurelien_Sama, even though it is just the ocean in this project.

The texture pack in a custom one so I cannot put it up fro download, that is one reason why I will not be uploading this project. It will look completely different wiht anithin else.

Now for what I have left to do.

-Dwemer Ruins            -Canton Outsides
-Bridges                         -Balmora
-Canton insides            -Docks
-Palace                          -Sewers
-Canton Domes           - Water Ways
-Ships                            - Light house

Also whatever I think if along the way.
I am going to take another break and make a goblin village next.

As always if you like this please leave a diamond and leave a comment on what I could improve on.

Update #3 : by LordCrawlMask 09/27/2015 6:48:58 pmSep 27th, 2015

I made the Telvanni docks inside the city, a black market under the Dagoth city docks, updated the outdie of the palace, made a lazy attempt at a dwemer ruin. Finally the biggest part is Balmora including Rethan Manor, a field, a fort, a small harbour and a family tomb.

Why is it so colorful? If you look at it in the original game, you see that the buildings aren't painted and there are barely any plants -- especially trees. It barely even looks like Vivec City.

Don't get me wrong; it still looks cool. It just doesn't look like Vivec.

In the description I said it was my take on Vivec city not a block by block recreation. Vivec in Morrowind was very boring and bland, I used mods to make it more colorful and added many plant to it. The city is more a smashed together of my favorite bits of Morrowind in one place. I was also using a Morrowind Reborn concept art as insperation for this. Unfortunately it is very hard to build thing from real life and other games in MInecraft it just doesn't translate over.

Thank you, it still does look pretty cool.

This is awesome and damm you ;)
All these older projects were actually a piece of this secret masterbuild of yours.

The whole city looks far more livingly than in the actual game. This build looks far more consistent in quality compared towards the Morrowind Reborn (who's slowly awaking from their winter sleep) project. The walls looks good, nice color palette with the two sandstone types. And I believe you toke quite some time to learn building ships from the masterbuilder.

The only inconsitent I can see for now are the flags in the onelast picture. The one in the background waves into a different project than the ones in the foreground. Just a suggestion but could you put up some captions by the pictures stating which one represent the houses: Indoril, Sotha & Dagoth as I am not familiair with those and I like to know your inteperention of them.

In short this project contains far more Morrowind stuff than any other I have seen.

Excellent done and glad to see you posting something again and have fun making a goblin village!

Thank you I had to rebulid many things so the level of qualty was consistent. I waited quiet a while for the redsand  stone to build those walls.  Thank you for pointing out the flags, I didn't notice that, easy to overlook thing on builds this big. Also thank you for introducing me Mrbeasty12's work, my ships would still be boring. I am currently working on the lore of the city, I avoided writing it before being it so long and will take me a while to write. I also added some captions to the picture. From there you can hopefully make sense of the map overview of the city.
