The A2 class was a 4-6-0 steam loco that was used for passenger services between 1907 and 1963. these where on of the best steam trains manufactured by Victorian railways at their Newport workshops rail yard. as of 2014 only one locomotive(A2 986) is in operational condition with the rest spread out in Victoria as static displays
