Hey guys! Long time no see eh? Yea I've been busy on stuff. Like my server and my friends PMC Project for the Nether Empire Contest. My friend gunoz, me and a couple of other friends along with the help of my server are creating a AMAZING nether empire! I will not put a link to anything yet until its uploaded. Enough about that. I'll post a link to the project when he uploads it. So 1 day before we start building the castle for gunoz's project I decide to make my own mini project. I made a nice castle. Its a 3 layers castle with a throne roof, dining roof, and library. I will be adding on to this even more but it will not be added into my Land of Imagination project. Gunoz's project will. I based it off of the picture you see in the picture area. This took about 2 days maybe a little less. So I am building with gunoz PLUS I made my own. like the color scheme! but it needs highlights and details b/c dark things look best when they glow and give off shadows

Thanks for the advice! I tried my best to make it light up. Its kinda hard to make dark blocks light up XD. Any suggestions?

Your right, its hard to make dark things light. A trick I used on my projects is to make light itself look like a block.

That way the empty spaces between darker textures looks like a physical block that gives off light without actually being a source of light. Empty space between blocks can be more beautiful that the blocks themselves

Anybody can plop down glowstone but a clever designer will hide light behind a block for backllighting or use half blocks (slabs)to trap light sources. The devil is in the details.
