Version 1.0 Flymod and Essentials warp signs are used to help construction only. All materials are collected and placed 100% legit by our dedicated community on the MineCraftWorlds community server. No MCEdit or Worldedit is used on this project phase.
Version 2.0 Essentials warp signs are no longer used and we use Command blocks for teleporting around. We are however using worldedit to speed up the renovation to use blocks that have been introduced since Beta 1.9 for example, golden roofs ad marble railings etc. No MCEdit or other software that builds for you is used still.
The Forbidden City is only phase 1 of many for Project 1845 so the map will continue to be enlarged with more content. You can go to www.project1845.com for more information

World-First?
Other Players have tried to make 1:1 scale models of the forbidden city. These however have been proven as all false for several reasons. For example
The Quest of Accuracy
The second main aspect of this project is accuracy. With the help of Google Earth, Internet, Archaeological reports (at the National Museum) and direct observation (And I live in Beijing at the moment). I can safely assume this will be 100% 1:1 scale and 100% accurate.
All maps i have found are innacurate enough I have to check in triplicate from other sources. For example the two maps I have added into the image slider are missing things in different elements, some maps arent to scale but have more buildings, some are to scale but don't have enough buildings to call accurate.
I have to use 3 physical maps I have next to my computer, 2 images of maps i have on digital format and also to use Google Maps just as a final check as sometimes all 6 maps tell 6 different things.
I also visit the Forbidden City in-person regularly, I have already taken over 3000 images and each time i visit I take another 3-500 images of mostly random items that no map will be detailed enough to pick up. Also, an american infantry force visited Beijing in 1901 and they took a photographer with them so i can compare them to modern-day and see what the republican and communist era's of modern day China have changed it.

World-First?
Other Players have tried to make 1:1 scale models of the forbidden city. These however have been proven as all false for several reasons. For example
- Firstly, several servers have claimed to 1:1 ratio of it but have built around 450x400 sized. When in real life it is approx 800 meters wide and over 2.6 kilometers long. Meaning no one has actually built to 1:1 scale before this model.
- Secondly is the image above shows is only 1/3 of the offical forbidden city, there is two major section to the north (that the emperoros used as a park) and to the south (the national religous dieties) the temples. This means players have only built the Inner Palace and not the entire complex.
- Historically the emperor was never allowed to roam freely outside of the palace walls of the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, and only ventured out to pay respect at various tombs and temples. These areas outlined above were areas the emperor was allowed to roam freely and is thus, definitely inside the forbidden city.
