Server Name: Devastation
Server Location: US
Server Address: devastation.world
Version: 1.12.2 (1.13&1.14 clients supported)
Game Play Type: Custom Nether Survival

Description:
We are currently in **Beta**. There may still be major changes in gameplay, but the map will survive. The server may be restarted randomly, though it will only happen if there are no players online, or in an extreme emergency. Please let me know if you have any ideas/bugs!

It is Survival, in a ruined city. You may want to mine for glowstone, but most of your treasures will be acquired above ground, in the rubble of this devastated metropolis.

Changes from vanilla nether:
  • The world generator is CityWorld. This creates a random landscape of everything from sewers to skyscrapers.
  • Overworld mobs naturally spawn. Zombie pigmen are currently disabled.
  • Beds do not explode. You still can't sleep, but you can set your bed spawn.
We also have a few guns available for purchase, and will be adding more. You make money by collecting the heads of the monsters who roam the ruins. We will be expanding the economy in the future.

Rules:
* This is a family-friendly server. No cursing or adult imagery please.
* No harassing other players, for any reason.
* Do not use any hacks/cheats which give you an advantage.
* No spam or advertising.
* Claim your land. You may build anywhere, but don't expect it to stay intact without claiming.
* Do not claim land right next to another claim. Give everybody room to expand

I have two ideas, but you need to make mob heads stack-able first before implementing them. Players can only use the quick-access bar. The rest of your inventory is filled with barrier blocks. This sets up a cool mechanism with backpacks. A backpack in your quick-access bar removes some of the barrier blocks. I'm connecting two ideas. The slots removed of barrier blocks can now be used like the quick-access bar. It's the inventory of the backpack in your quick-access bar. Bigger backpacks removes more of the barrier packs. You can only have one backpack in your quick-access bar. If you have items in your backpack inventory and you no longer have the backpack in your quick-access bar, all the items are dropped. If you swap the backpack in your quick-access bar with a "deflated" backpack in that backpack inventory, the items that can't fit into this new backpack are dropped. There can never be a backpack that exceeds the size of a player's inventory. The best part about these backpacks is that it handles ender chests and shulker boxes well. You can look at those items as being magical in nature. Mojang already programmed shulker boxes to not allow shulker boxes inside them. The biggest problem with these backpack is when you want to save items into the backpacks' inventory. The solution to this is simple, but you will have to store the id of every backpack and the items in each backpack into some database. In other words, this is more memory that you need to pay for to have on your server. I'm going to stop here because the longer your comment on Planet Minecraft is, the slower it is to submit or edit it.

Unfortunately, we couldn't allow head stacking because they each have a unique value based on difficulty of kill etc.

I like your ideas, though I have to admit that I am still processing what you wrote. :)
