Pros:
The community is active and yet spawn isn't plagued with people murdering newbies. They enforce a strict "no spawn killing" rule to prevent unnecessary grief early in the game. Minimal plugins allow for a true vanilla experience for legitimate players. Hackers/spammers are typically banned immediately, as admins keep a watchful eye on suspicious behavior. Forever Vanilla recently hosted a fun and well-constructed festival event in which all players were allowed to participate in numerous competitions, including jousts, battle arenas, and fishing.

Cons:
Hostile mob spawns (not from spawner blocks) are noticeably reduced. This can be great if you don't like fighting mobs at night, but it's bad if you're trying to farm certain items. Also, they have a Clear Lag plugin which clears dropped items in loaded chunks every so often. The plugin has caused numerous issues for players in which untimely trades or deaths have resulted in severe item losses. Additionally, Clear Lag will remove any minecarts in loaded chunks, which kills much of the fun for exploring abandoned mineshafts.

Reason for Leaving:
At the festival, I blew up some people that were participating in the fishing event. The admins did not seem to appreciate my "blast fishing" approach. No hard feelings, right? ♥

Overall Impression:
This is a solid server with good staff, active players, and plenty of potential. If you're looking for a genuine vanilla SMP experience, don't hesitate to add Forever Vanilla to your list.

I've been playing on your server for a couple days now. I really like it since there are few vanilla servers with people on it.

- It's getting really hard to play, though. I enjoy the vanilla experience because it's harder than minecraft with factions or towny. However, there are people on there who hack. I really think you should get nocheat instead of things like noclear. You really need nocheat because people are flying around and using forcefield. Please try to look into this, i'd like to be able to play on this server again.
