I joined the server and the people seemed nice. I seemed to get on well with everyone. As it is a fairly new server, since transitioning from an older version, I have to give a little leniancy for a lack of infrastructure, but it was still fun to play on and the people were pleasant and helpful.
After having a spawn issue supposedly resolved, whereby we'd randomly plop in the ocean somewhere instead of the intended spawn, I decided that since it would probably be fixed I'd just mess around and create a place not far from said location. Unfortunately, even though the spawn is set for new players... when you die, you'll go back to the main town spawn, which is great. However all new players STILL randomly drop into the ocean not far from my house. As a result, I've been griefed twice. I admit, it was fairly silly of me to build so close, but it isn't directly near the spawn point, you have to travel a little way into the forest to see my place. In any case, I did mention that I was griefed and someone (can't remember who) said it wouldn't be hard to figure out who did it because of a certain number of players. However, this evidently didn't take into account little shites who join the server to grief, who couldn't give a shit if they're kicked or just simply don't return afterwards. The first time I was griefed, I was a little disappointed but it was expected. I talked about anti-grief, or ability to lock things, but since it's still fairly early, it isn't prioritised. Well, since the spawns are still broken and all new, griefing children spawn fairly close to my house (and it hasn't been fixed), my house always end up the target for looting. Surprisingly, some areas of the map are safe zones, which is to be expected since there are town spawns and such, but no protection was given to anyone yet the server was posted on here to the globe. Hmm. Anywho, the basic rule is, run 1000m in a certain direction then build, if you're a new player, since new player spawns are screwed, still.
2nd time I was griefed, when I came on about 15 minutes ago, my entire house was dug out. Chests. Furnaces. Doors. Even windows. Banners. Armour rack. Iron and gold supply. It wasn't a great deal, but since this is the 2nd time in about 2-3 days, it's actually rather annoying. Now this is partly my fault, but also partly the fault of those running the server since had I not said anything about spawns being broken in the first place they probably wouldn't have known about it.
Nice bunch of people, but horrid priority and no anti-grief. I wouldn't recommend playing on here until anti-grief is added - then it'll be a joy to play on.
