after awhile, i discovered pixeljoint and man i spent a lot of time just looking at stuff i really liked, sometimes i still do. ive only downloaded ilKke's works because his technique and optimization is insane, but a lot of other creators there inspire me too: Thu, finlal, came2slide, Deceiver, a3um, Fool, cure, ptoing, jamon, and graindolium.
as for in an academic setting or irl, i haven't done anything. i used to draw a ton of stick figures to pass time but that's it lool... sure hope i didnt miss the point of your question
what about you?
Your studies seem to be so accurate looking at some of your inspirations.
Hmm! I’d say the same! I save works from talented artists and watch YouTube videos. Sometimes read books on fundamentals, but I haven’t attended any type of schooling for art.
On a side note, I really like some of the works that those artists created on pixeljoint. Might have to note them!
Besides effort and dedication, it's taken a monumental amount of time as well. I used to have much more random snippets of skins laying around in comparison to the total number of skins I have uploaded, sadly they're all gone due to my old laptop breaking
I'm glad you like my recommendations! I'd also like to hear about the artists you look up to! And about some of the fundamentals from the books you've read, as that's something I'm working with as well for my transition to pixel art outside of minecraft.
