Class: Wizard, level 8

Race: Human, age 24

Alignment: Evil

Details: Although the timeline is more medieval, Astraia has the money to afford dyed clothing. The city she comes from, Riliid's Peak, in Skyridge, a mountainous province, is the main textile industry. Her family is also rather wealthy (not that she is aware, amnesia go brrr). Because of the cold atmosphere of where Astraia lives, I gave her character layered clothes, and due to the high altitude, dark hair and eyes (I did my research :D)

Magic is taking a toll on her body, so she has perpetual eyebags, dull eyes, and slowly paling skin. Her veins are turning blacker as this rot progresses. Alas, some sacrifices must be made. Her appearance is a small price to pay.

Backstory: Astraia has studied the arcane arts for most of her life. After dropping out of university due to a magic incident, she endeavoured to learn magic in a more freestyle way: joining a questing group and fighting monsters. Unfortunately, said magic incident has given her patchy amnesia. She has only recently discovered her last name, which has interesting political connections. As relayed by Elnora, a druid: Who knew a noble's horse would recognize her?!

Lack of discipline, however, has led to chaos. It doesn't help that the resident immolator is a bit trigger happy (and by that, she means to say Raven is most likely an arsonist). Her party members are getting suspicious, which is unfortunate. Astraia was starting to enjoy their company, especially the thief, Tanis, who she has been working with to find more... creative uses for magic (they scammed people to buy cheap beer by making it look better). Though, in the face of the choosing knowledge or connections, she would choose to further her affinity for magic.

Wizards aren't accepted, and in the face of the clerics who hunt her kind down, it's better to have that edge over magic. Society's fear comes from a historical figure, the Blighted King, who used (uses?) the arcane arts to bend souls to his will, and it seems society has forgotten how wizards helped the hallowed clerics stop him. No matter, though. Decimation can lead to new beginnings, and Astraia will do anything to help her lord conquest over the living world. She is willing to use soul energy to further her power if it means her ways will be respected, and once she masters the arcane, she will never fail at magic again.

Character Development: Despite the fact that she is now evil, Astraia used to be neutral. She was slightly awkward, and a bit snobby to start out, sure, but she came to support her team members. At the start of their adventures, all she wanted was to learn. The wizard didn't care about power or respect, she just wanted to up her knowledge. The party got along well, and she had a friendly (not-so-friendly now, however) rivalry with Raven, her chaos buddy. Heck, she was even an accessory to murder at one point for the sake of the party's elven ranger, Lauriel, a deserter.

Now, Astraia is too far gone (or maybe not, we'll see) to help people. She has been corrupted by the notion of power that magic grants her, blind to the consequences of her actions. Luckily, she hasn't been proven to be evil by her companions (ha! As if). She has actively worked against her teammates (her charisma is coming in handy) and sees them only as stepping stones. The only reason she's been keeping them alive is to ensure that she succeeds in her mission to revive her great king and gain respect from his followers, as well as those who fear him.

Summary: Astraia is gonna gatekeep, gaslight, and girlboss her way to power, nothing is going to stop her thirst for magic. As the player, I am curious to if the other characters can convince Astraia that she will only destroy herself by going down this path, but at this point she might just be too far gone.
