//prologue//

//Once upon a time, in a world quite unlike your own, lived three rulers. The first, ruler of The Above, was a kind and benevolent ruler, who’s kingdom was strong and full of light.


The second, ruler of The Below, was a strong and proud king, who’s kingdom was built on tyranny and strife.


The third, ruler of The Middleground, was a caring king, and he kept both other kings from breaking and attacking each other, for his kingdom sat between theirs, and to pass to another’s kingdom meant passing through his.


It is still unclear who started the battle, but on the summer solstice, before the Sun had reached her palace in The Below, the Middleground was attacked.


The battle raged on for 100 days and 100 nights, and at the end of it, all three rulers had perished at one another’s blades. //
