Oh boy, this has been a struggle. This skin is a fan skin for: Bureine, ThatGuyJake and Aspirin60 (who is the modern moving mouth person). The idea is a surrealistic skin that shatters the beliefs of what should and should not exist in reality.
The concept:
I've always struggled with using the 'new' layers - at the beginning I disliked how they looked, but later I realised that I was just not one to see the potential in them. My view of the mincraft skinning reality was stale - I couldn't see beyond the pre 1.8 designs, and felt no layers on a skin was the best solution.
Enter ThatGuyJake An upcoming skinner who I had not heard of. He showed off crazy design skills and an ability to comprehend the potential the layers had that was beyond me. He started bending my expectations of what I should be going for with skins.
For a long time, the one that had ruled the landscape of designing skins had been Kefka - he managed to create incredible designs, and one of his favourite attributes was the moving mouth. This particular concept I have always liked and admired. Kefka slowly disappeared off the scene however, leaving a void to be filled. A void which Aspirin60, monster skinner extraordinaire, filled. Cool monster skins have since then returned to PMC. These monster skins pushed me to shatter my previous monster designs and try to expand my own reality of designs for them too, something which I tried to really push in the zombie dragon skin.
Bureine had been a long term friend of mine - and he had been showing off a great arm design and shading progress. His inclusion is not surprising - as him and I go way back.
How these skinners are represented on the skin:
Bureine: Bureine inspired the colour scheme for the upper torso, head (which consists of a brain) and the right arm - which is inspired by his persona. I am a fan of Bureine for his ability to give feedback (the brain) and being my right hand man for the longest of time, so the inclusion was obvious.
I am a fan of Bureine for his skins, friendship and help.
Aspirin60: Aspirin took off where Kefka left. I've always been a huge fan of monster skins and I can't help but love the dragon skins the most. Aspirin, as the current embodiment of this style of skins on pmc right now, had to be included. Aspirin's designs let me to add the moving mouth, tongue and monsterous legs with claws and tail.
I am a fan of Aspirin's monster skins.
ThatGuyJake: Design extraordinaire who is one of the nicest people you'll ever come across. For this skin I decided to try to use the hat layer a bunch - as he has always said I need to step up my game. Moreover the way I designed the arms are heavily inspired by him. The shield on the right arm is inspired by this design of his and for the left arm I asked which skin Jake liked the most of his: The answer being this great old knight skin.
I am a fan of Jake because he has the most incredible designs, ideas and feedback.
