Roosters: Birds are the only folks with a huge mass of non-human flesh, unlike tails and ears. Their wings are not as delicious. Bird people taste better than the fat, grain-fed, mass-farmed non-human chickens that I have. Chickens are the dumbest birds, so they're easiest to catch. Male chickens taste the same as females, but females are bigger.




I myself, am not a "roostery" looking rooster, if not for my spurs and admittedly small, pale, colorless sickle feathers my avian attributes would be indistinguishable from a hen's. The local butcher on the other hand is not as edible-looking. Roosters with huge pretty feathers only look bulky and full of meat, but once you dig in you'll get a mouthful of feathers. Therefore I will not eat this man. He is a friendly looking guy but he never strikes up a conversation. I never heard him say anything. He just smiles and waves, bless his heart. Never moves unexpectedly, does everything he is supposed to do. In fact, all of my visits to the butcher seem almost scripted.
I walk in with it. I set it on the table. He cuts it. He wraps it. I take half of it. He takes half of it. He doesn't know what it is, nor does he question it, but it's delicious so who cares?
