Ciara Moonbloom is a thin, strange woman from the equally strange world know as the Midnight. She is not human, but not many are in the Midnight. Her people are known for wielding powerful Dark Magic, and it is something Ciara excels at. Wanting to see different worlds, a young Ciara used this as an excuse to travel to the Overworld, soon finding herself as a student in an Overworldian arcane academy. There, she learned to harness the element power of Darkness for a number of purposes. Unusually, she is adept at using Dark Magic offensively, and actually had trouble using it for its more common purpose of stealth and trickery. She supplements her dark with Force Magic, making it all the more unexpected when a foe is struck with the force of a small vehicle, from someone standing right in front of them.

Her life has been a tumultuous one, but through it all her dearest friend Ochieng has been by her side. They met when they were both students at the same school some 30 years ago. Her magic countering his instantly piqued their interest in eachother, but their relationship was deepened by a shared love of music, old stories, plants, and the times between day and night.
They care for the other so dearly, that Ciara trusts Ochieng to watch over not just her daughter back when she was young, but her grandchildren in the current day. This is something she lets no-one else have.

She lives in relative peace nowadays, and has even married recently. Her magic doesn't see much use beyond hiding dessert from her grandkids at the top of dark shelves.
