Hmm... I can be a bit of a perfectionist sometimes, but I tried to focus on the fact that the next time make a skin, try and fix the problem. And that if you keep trying to improve, the one before will still be at the end of the list. Hidden by the better creations. :D
Ideas... Well, I don't think they come too easily for many at all.
its those little tricks, like add a bow here, a stripe there, another colour there that I've found add to it.
Aaand I felt like writing a novella, sorry xD
