Friend was born Emma McCallan, a sweet girl from a small town. Her parents, though not the richest of people, gave her the best life they could. Her perfect little world soon took a fall for the worse when a series of kidnappings in her town included her. Along with a few other children her age, she was brought to a facility where they performed horrific experiments on the children. Friend would try to comfort them by talking and singing to them and eventually the people at the facility grew annoyed with her attempts and sewed her mouth shut, so that only a scar remained. Unable to eat, she grew thinner and thinner, her only sustenance the strange chemicals they attached to IV's and put in her body. The chemicals eventually destroyed her irises and leeched the pigment from her skin. Though she was still allowed contact with the other children, they were now scared of her and she could only watch them with sad eyes, wanting to be friends.
