Hey Everybody! This is 2012Commander Here, and this is the Notorious Fritz Joseph Smith, former Homicide Detective and current First Officer of the ESS Deimos (WA-01).
Fritz was Born In The Town of Rogue River, Kansas, in the Heart of Fillmore County, on April 5th, 1964. Not Much Is Known About His Childhood, but Some of his Childhood Friends Include Bill Segman and Clarke Yeager, An Office Worker and CEO of Yeager Real Estate, and Christian Pittman, A Powder Metallurgist.
His Family moved to St. George, Utah in 1972 when his father, Warren Thomas Smith, got a job as a Food Inspector. His Father Became Well-Known as "The Iron Tongue" for his lack of mercy on Kitchens' Employees and his wide variety of Profanity. Fritz Moved to the small town of Hurricane, Utah when he graduated Dixie State University in 1981. He Joined The Hurricane P.D. in 1983, and became a Lieutenant within 6 months of active service. Smith was immediately assigned a partner, Douglas Stewart. they became friends and valuable assets to the police force. by the time he was permanently transferred to Swallowmine P.D. in 1985 to follow a case he was working on, he was the Head of Detectives. if he had never left his original job, his life might've been a lot less interesting, as in 11/12/1985, 4 Children went missing, just like a case he tried to solve in late March of the same year in his previous town, with one exception; one of the children survived. Fritz commented on his transfer: "I wish Doug could've come with, and i know he cared about solving this case, probably more than me. he had a family over there [Hurricane, UT]; 4 kids and a lovely wife. no matter how much he wanted to go, he cared about his family more. Doug was a good man, and one heck [censored] of a partner and fellow detective."
the first case coincided with the death of Elizabeth Afton, a 7 year old girl and daughter of Co-Owner of Afton Robotics, William Afton. just before a gas leak occurred, condemning their HQ in St. George, A Technician, by the name of Christopher Bentley, was found brutally killed within the building's ventilation system. Detective Smith was also on that Case.
Fritz arrived in Swallowmine and was assigned a new partner, Senior Homicide Detective Jared Marley. they became friends shortly after. Marley mainly worked on other cases but occasionally helped Fritz with his case. by this time, Fritz only worked on the case, and wrote out multiple notes, theories, and evidence, and compiled it into a single manila folder. he calls it the Freddy Files.
the second case happened the same month that Henry and William moved to the Secondary Facility in Swallowmine. Bingo! it MUST be one of the two, or possibly both, murdering the children (because James Taylor, a victim who barely survived, clearly recounts the night that it happened on, with the killer claiming the lives of Frederick Hansen, Berry Newman, Chelsea Woodrow, and Francis Redford). Fritz arrives at the site with Marley, and they let themselves in after no one comes to the door. they find William Afton dead, crushed inside of a Springlock Suit, cause of death being massive blood loss. as Fritz is inspecting the body, Detective Marley disappears without a trace, other than a muffled scream, which Fritz Follows. Fritz sees something in the darkness, and approaches with it at gunpoint. it flees, but not without Fritz emptying his gun on it first. metallic noises are heard, and it jumps into the air ducts. Smith, knowing that this "thing" can survive 15 rounds of a 9mm bullet, flees the premises. Detective Marley and Henry Schmidt are presumed dead.
