If you're looking for a less serious run of Dragon Warrior III, a Goof-Off is a perfect fit for your party! In addition to having generally poor stats (barring a high Luck stat), Goof-Offs will occasionally ignore your orders entirely! Their "better judgment" will lead to actions such as falling asleep on the spot, insulting the enemy to stun them for a turn, lighting paper on fire to cast Blazemore at the foe, telling jokes to make the enemy laugh, tripping and throwing their weapon by accident (guaranteeing a Critical Hit), and more!

But the best part comes when your Goof-Off hits level 20... You see, at some point, you'll be able to change your characters' classes at the Temple of Dharma. Changing classes is the only way to get the elusive Sage in your party, usually through the use of a special book. The neat thing about Goof-Offs, however, is that they can change into Sages without the item! Thus, if you're willing to put in the time and energy to drag one along, eventually your efforts will pay off in spades!
