Iori is the rival of the King of Fighters series main protagonist, Kyo Kusanagi. He is a descendant of one of the three tribes that sealed away an evil entity, known as Orochi. His powers and abilities consist of martial arts centered around clawing attack, his basic instincts (which makes him considerably formidable in combat; he's essentially a wild animal), and pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fire. He acts cold and ruthless, but has a soft side. His violent temperament is counterbalanced with his good moral nature and a disdain for violence; he only fights under specific circumstances, despite his outward appearance and his general nature during fights. He first appeared in King of Fighters '95 and has been in just about every subsequent KoF game since.
