Lady's from the time of fedual Japan were traditionally know to wear a kimono. These kimonos were normally a deep purple pale blue or yellowy green. The flower crowns were worn as a symbol of peace and love. Women would wear these to protect themselves from those who my attempt to kill them. The warriors who saw these crowns knew that if the attacked they would be left with bad luck. (This is something I remembered from Japanese class last year so it may be stuffed up in parts)
