How do you start making a skin? It usually takes me hours to simply think of an idea, and takes me days to visualize the idea and complete a skin.

It starts with me browsing Pinterest for inspiration or seeing art that I really like by artists that I follow on my Twitter. I usually add my own twist from then on. References are really helpful when it comes to skins. To be honest, I don't think it really matters how long you work on a skin. If the end product is something you are satisfied with and you feel is worth posting, then the time it took wouldn't matter.
