One day Steve was out hunting, trying to replenish his supplies. While he was chasing a cow, without him even realizing it, night had fallen. Once he caught up and killed the cow, he started heading back to his house, not realizing how far he had come during his hunt. While he was walking, he neared a hill and saw bright flashes of light coming from over it. As he walked over the crest of the hill, he saw a fearsome battle taking place between an Enderman and a Creeper. He watched for a second, then started running toward them, hoping to divert their attention and gather resources. As the pair fought, he grew nearer. And suddenly, the Creeper decided to end it, and started hissing as he began to detonate. The Enderman realized what was happening just before Steve did, and attempted to teleport away before the Creeper could explode. As it exploded, Steve got caught in the blast and passed out. When he woke up, he had an Ender Pearl embedded in his chest, his eyes had changed color to purple, and he found that he had acquired strange powers. He could teleport like an Enderman, could cause small explosions, could emit an ear-splitting scream, and could make blocks disappear with a touch.
