Samnite Man 1

This is the first of a few new skins I'll be doing, covering the clothing and attire of the ancient Italic tribes who were around during the early days of the ancient Roman Republic. I will be doing skins for the Samnites, Etruscans, and other ancient tribes of Italy.


The Samnites were an ancient Italic people who lived in Samnium in south-central Italy. They become involved in several wars with the Roman Republic until the 1st century BC. They were an Oscan-speaking people who lived alongside the Latin and Umbrian speaking peoples of Italy, and they probably originated as an offshoot of the Sabines. The Samnites formed a confederation consisting of four tribes. They fought with and also against the Romans many times until finally being completely assimilated into Roman society.

This skin includes a basic Greek/Italic hairstyle with a colorful Italic-style short tunic that was distinct among the many natives of Italy, and a hefty bronze waistband belt that was popular with the Samnite peoples.

You may recolor and modify this skin as you please, but please give credit. You may use this skin on any server you like.
