Rather than go for recogniseable scrapped parts, I wanted to play around a bit with emulating scrapped metal.
The singular palette in question
I was initally working on something with its own little story - some enigmatic figure with a cloak who lived in a scrapheap. By chance, I happened upon this nice, rusted metally colour ramp (see above) while trying to create a dull orange ramp for first skin. It had this odd green tinge to it (by hue, it's actually orange), which really fits the look of discarded, marginally rusted metal. From there I decided to switch course and design something akin to a scrap metal sculpture (e.g. below)
