It's easy, get an unshaded skin on a new layer on paintdotnet, delete the background, make a new layer with the template on it, then, selecting that layer, click on the word "Layers" then "Layer Properties" then set "Mode" to "Overlay" (this is a LATE reply, and you might know how to use it now)
