Tūī

The Tui is a medium sized bird that is endemic to New Zealand. They are a type of bird known as honeyeaters, this is because they drink the nectar from flowers. They are a very territorial bird and you will often see them chasing other Tui out of their territory.
Tui have two voice boxes and are able to create hundreds of unique sounds, ranging from chestful whistling, humming, clucking, booming and meeping. They are one the most vocal birds in New Zealand and their song is something all New Zealander's enjoy.
