Selected as a subject for enhancement due to his incredible mutant healing factor, the mysterious forces behind the Weapon X programme laced James "Logan" Howlett's skeleton and mutant claws with the unbreakable metal, adamantium. Once broken free, Logan decided to use his powers for good and adopt the mantle of the unkillable Wolverine!
Wolverine has many extraordinary abilities, such as a healing factor allowing him to recover from most injuries faster and age slower than the majority of humans, enhanced physcial abilities, retractable claws (originally bone but now laced with adamantium) and enhanced senses. He is also well trained in a variety of martial arts, stealth and more.
