The Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, or DRK for short, was the German Red Cross society in charge of caring for wounded during WW2. Directed by Carl Eduard, the DRK operated across wartime Germany, helping wounded soldiers in aide stations recover and survive. Nurses like these were employed after medical school, where they learned to assist doctors mainly in surgery.
