Banners Squared [1.18.2 - 1.21.8] (OptiFine or EMF)

1x1 block banners for better letters and seamless pictures. Ideal for billboards, store signboards, and every place where you want big crisp text or detailed, seamless graphics. Survival-friendly! (these colorful non-moving squares are still vanilla banners, they just look different)

Designed for 1.20.4, works with 1.18.2 to 1.21.8

For this pack to work as intended, a mod is needed:

1. For any version [​1.18.2 - 1.21.8]: OptiFine
2. For 1.20.1 or newer, as an alternative to OptiFine, all of the following Fabric mods:
   - Entity Model Features
   - Entity Texture Features
   - Polytone

Most likely works on every release between 1.18 and 1.21.8, but I don't have the time to test them all.
Warning: For 1.18.x and 1.19.x, only OptiFine is supported, while Fabric mods alternative is broken. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Known issues:

• Model of banner held in hand is broken in 1.21.4+. But it still looks right when placed.
• (EMF+ETF+Polytone) may not work correctly with 1.18.x and 1.19.x. Either use OptiFine instead, or update to 1.20.4.

2025-08-02: Patch released - previously, standing banners had misaligned back top and bottom textures.
2025-08-04: Patch released - previously, the `stand` part of banner was positioned way too low on 1.21.4+, due to changes to modes handling. Now, overlays system is used to provide compatibility with [​1.21.4 - 1.21.8]
2025-08-24: Patch released - previously, long diagonals looked plain bad, and I have found a way to fix this. Also, new patterns from 1.21 have been added.
