Description:
Better Maps is a resource pack that retextures maps, changes map colors to better match the terrain, and adds different map variants to help customize and keep track of your maps.

Map Customization:
Here is a table of what can be included in a map's name to change your map's item texture (this does not change the color of the map itself). Everything is case insensitive and spaces are wildcards (eg. Light-Blue is valid).

Hi! Could i please use the map color change part of this awesome texturepack of yours in my own texturepack? You would be properly credited in the "README" of my pack and i will be really grateful! I really wanted to add more accurate maps but i never knew how am i supposed to do that and you did it perfectly! If you want i can sent you a link to the pack so you can make sure that everything is all right.

Yes, you can copy the map color changes to your resource pack. I would also like a link to your resource pack just because I'm curious about your resource pack.

I would prefer there to be more colour changes with the grass. The savanna grass texture is the same as most other grass. There's probably more that are the same that I haven't discovered though. Pretty much the only grass that changed that I noticed is the plains being slightly brighter. I would like the savanna to be more brown.

I understand if you don't want to change these small things. If can you tell me how to find the code is that changes the colour of the grass is then I can do it myself. I already tried but all I could find was the default colour properties for other blocks.

For some reason I thought the plains were a brighter green because I just checked and they aren't. In fact none of the grass is different I don't think.

I guess different grass colours is a suggestion now. Same with maybe water in swamps and stuff. If it isn't to difficult of course. It doesn't matter if you cant its just it would be nice to see.

I would have loved to do that, but optifine only alows you to change the color of all grass, you can't change the color of grass on maps for specific biomes like savana.
