Hi! So personally I think that the Vanilla sand is a bit too bright/light instead of being a bright red/orange so I took some inspiration from real-life deserts and decided to make every sand block (sand, chiseled sandstone, cut sandstone, sandstone, smooth sandstone and the slabs) look more reddish.
Also as a little note both the Vanilla texture and my texture of the sand might look a bit brighter in the screenshots I attached since the shader that I used in those screenshots makes things a bit bright but you can get an idea of what the actual color of the blocks is from the primary image where 2 blocks of sand are desplayed.
