To clarify, this pack is actually 4x4 resolution with 8x8 mobs.
Update: Finally out of beta!
Now that the issue with Jens is cleared up, I'm updating all of my projects. Aside from everything being brought current, I also managed to fix the freaked out lava texture!
I know the cats look funny. I'm looking for some feedback on this. At 8x res, there's no way around this. I could joker the texture by upscaling it while retaining the low-res look and that would allow me to fix the alignment issues. It all depends on whether it's better to keep a lower resolution or retain a higher visual aesthetic. It isn't possible to do both, so I've struck the best balance using the existing low-res format. Please comment below. If you like them, we'll keep them. If you find yourself killing your cats because you're tired of them looking at you funny, we might need to figure something else out.
It would be nice to have a video, but my capture software is acting up. If someone else wants to shoot one, this chiptune music would be great. If anyone's up for it, don't forget to credit the artist. The song is Zizibum by X-ray. Also, if you let me know I can provide the Bitcraft logo graphic for use.

The objective of this pack is to capture the essence of original Minecraft in the lowest resolution possible (at least in terms of keeping items and features recognizable), 4x4 pixel textures, while retaining the original aesthetic and appeal. This takes the retro look of Minecraft not one but two steps farther by reducing the terrain file to 25% the original scale. Where standard Minecraft feels 8-bit retro, this pack will take you back to the days of the Atari 2600. The mobs and items are 8x8 pixel textures because 4x4 rendered them unrecognizable, but this pack is 100% the smallest usable resolution.
As requested, here's the full set of companion Bitcraft skins!
(haven't had time to create any skins based on post-beta mobs)
Our Brave Hero
Cowman
Chickenman
Pigman
Sheepman
Blacksheepman
Squidman
Manspider
Cavemanspider
Skeleton
Zombie
Creeperman
Slimeman
Pigmonster
Ghastman
Silverfishman
Enderfellow

Additional Notes
There are files included for custom water, portal, lava, and fire textures. Ironically, just like HD texture packs, this LD texture pack also requires use of the HD texture patch to properly view these animated texture files.| Credit | sisisimoore, for the engaging discussion which led to the inspiration for this pack. |
