the model will replace the glass, you can choose any other block, but by default it is glass. Be careful! Don`t include this resource pack near the glass mountains!

Should set it a barrel though, it would allow the model to be interacted with just like a chest

And can you make this a working case/chest?

I am not able to replace the model of a chest or a double chest, since this is not a regular block. If you find a way , you can change the model as you want
