See everything easier.
Almost everything is colorless, contrast to certain things:

Hostile mobs are bright red, passive mobs are bright green, ally mobs are bright blue.
Ores are a defined color to spot easier.
With fancy graphics, leaves are transparent.
Wearing pumpkins provide a somewhat-helpful HUD.
And other small helpful little edits.
