Fabricraft Beta 2.0.1 [WIP]

Fabricraft is an experimental idea on giving Minecraft a fabric theme and style. The default textures are used but they are a 'fabricated' theme of checkered light and dark colours give the fabricated look. This is a clean, crisp and easy on the eye texture pack, so if you like simplistic packs, this is for you to try!

NOTICE: I have recently had a texture corruption and many of the textures are invalid in the download (Beta 1.9) (something went wrong and all the updated textures disappeared, I have just updated it, so if you wish to receive the updated version, please re-download.

Please check back on this page frequently to receive updates.

So far I have changed:

  • Sand, sandstone and smooth sandstone
  • Bricks
  • Bookshelves
  • Beds
  • Main menu background

Are you going to make the tools (Swords, Picks, Flint&Steel ect) fabric too?

Yes, that will be coming in a week or so. For now, i'm doing the blocks, then i'll do the items. Keep watching the site for updates. Next update is around Thursday or Friday.

Are there any suggestions you would like to give me?

Could you make some different blocks different kinds of fabric?
Like blue blocks being like Denim or blocks like sand being Khaki.
I dunno but it sounds interesting c:

Different styles would be difficult to make manually in a 16x texture pack, but I'll see what I can do.

Anyway, I am really new to making my own texture, this is the first really successful one, so I published it. Is there an easy way of making an HD texture, other than individually painting each pixel?

If you download the 1.8.1 version, you'll see that I've updated the gravel texture.

you should make it easier to tell the difference between gravel and stone.

Huh, looks like patchcraft, an old texturepack I'm recreating.

Let's link to eachother's packs.

Mine's just 2 colors for most blocks, so they look less like the original block. Yours looks like a checkered overlay.

Similar, but not the same.

My pack isn't out yet.

I wasn't aware of Patchcraft though. The idea just flew into my mind. I would be interested in your texture pack when it is done ;).
By the way, the entire texture pack so far has been done by hand... no filters or overlay effects have been used at all.
