This pack replaces the new post-1.12 textures with new ones that fit in with the old art, as well as slightly altering models. This was originally just for personal use, but eventually I decided to release it to the public.
! This pack must be used on top of the built-in Programmer Art resource pack. !
There are Optifine exclusive features that may only function with custom entity models or other settings enabled (such as piglins using the pigman model).
If anything is missing, inconsistent, low quality, or you think anything should be changed, let me know—feedback is greatly appreciated, whether it be a criticism, an issue (even a very minor one) or a praise.
Textures from this pack are free to use for your own content, so long as you provide credit.
I'm by no means a professional artist (especially when it's not at such a low resolution); however, the original developers did not specialize in art by any means either, to my knowledge. I personally prefer this pack over any other, as it aligns what I want in a PA+ pack and feels in most places significantly closer to my perception of Programmer Art.
The Netherite, debris and other, are very outstanding, and don't look at all like their default counterparts. It's a comparable case with the phantoms—though, they are closer to what the original concept was. Similarly, I have made the Allay much closer to the original Wisp concept. I prefer it visually, and name-wise, (though "Wisp" is not an antithesis to the name of the Vex, and the Wisp as a whole seems to imply nothing in the world of Minecraft), much more. It did, though, fit much better in the Soulsand Valley where it was initially meant to be, and in the overarching setting of the Nether, with its appearance being so similar to the Ghast.

8/13/24 : by Frigdor 08/14/2024 12:20:20 amAugust 14, 2024 @ 4:20 am UTC
Hello. I am no liar, but I am sure a procrastinator.
Jokes aside, I decided to update to 1.20 as I had just started playing lightly modded 1.20 MC with friends rather often, and while I played with Jappa's wonderful textures for a while, I couldn't help but miss the older look.
So, here you go. I hope some of you from a couple years ago return to see that I've applied your feedback!
Alterations:
- Honeycomb Item
- Glowberry Item
- Phantom Membrane
- Smithing Table (no longer has jarring white tools)
- Smithing Template UI (now properly aligned & looks a little nicer)
- Loom (doesn't look like an empty bookshelf anymore)
- Composter
- Kelp
- Copper Ingot
- Nautilus Shell
- Amethyst Buds & Clusters
- Polished Basalt
- ALL STRIPPED LOGS (now look much smoother instead of being a brightened normal log)
- Netherite Ingot
- Netherite Block (now has a unique appearance)
- Netherite Tools
- Netherite Armor (all of the netherite items have been changed to a reddish hue)
- And many more!
Additions:
- All smithing templates
- Trim color palettes
- All hanging signs
- All cherry wood blocks
- All mangrove blocks
- Frogs
- Mud
- Packed mud & mud bricks
- Relic disc
- Disc 5
- Echo shard
- Disc 5 fragments
- Recovery Compass
- Sculk shrieker
- Sculk catalyst
- Warden
- Torchflower & seeds
- Pitcher Plant & pod
- Sniffer Egg
- Sniffer
- Chest boats
- Suspicious gravel & sand
- Froglights
- Allays
- Chiseled Bookshelves
- Dried Kelp (completely new texture)
- Brush
- And many more!
