Hyper Realistic Sky Minecraft Texture Pack

Hyper Realistic Sky is the biggest, most versatile and feature rich sky pack you will ever find out there. The pack has 8 unique cloud sets that will change depending on the biome you're in. There are also unique skies for all types of weather, when you will usually see dense rain clouds, but when it's snowing, you will see fluffy white snow clouds, and when you're in a desert, you will see sandstorms. Each sky has a day, night, sunset and sunrise variant, as well as a low and high altitude variant, making it a total of 88 cloud variants!

On top of that, this pack also features a plethora of special events, such as Solar eclipses, shooting stars, lightning strikes, and even spinning tornadoes. There are many special rare cloud types featured in the pack as well, such as asperitas and mammatus clouds.

In addition, this pack also features several skies for the Nether and End dimensions, that will change depending on the biome you're in. Adding it all up, the pack features a total of 114 unique skyboxes!

As you can see, this a very large and ambitious project, and the best part is, it's all free! If you like what you see, and would like to support me, you can donate through PayPal. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    README
    Pick the correct version
    • Java vanilla: These versions are set to "alpha" release type.
    • Bedrock: Download from the bedrock page.
    • Java Modded: This is the main version of the pack, and is set to "release" type. Select a version and scroll down to see the required mod (Modrinth) or check the "Related Projects" tab (CurseForge). If more than one dependency is listed for a version, you only need one. When multiple mods are added as a dependency, that means that the pack will work with all of them, but only one of them is needed to get the pack working. Some mods are available on different versions and mod loaders, so I added support for as many as possible for the widest possible compatibility. Version compatibility is set to the pool of all the mods combined, so what you see is possible to run with at least one of the mods. Check the compatibility table below.
    • OptiFine: This format is supported in the latest release version, and it's mainly intended to be used with Skyboxify, which may be available on some game versions that other mods aren't. This is a heavily compromised version of the pack, as many features are impossible to implement the same way as they have been for Nuit and Celestial.
Here is a list of features that are not included:
-rainbow, tornadoes, total solar eclipse, blood moon, blue moon, gas giants, black hole (both in the Overworld and the End), Andromeda, hurricane (outer space variant), seamless fog and the animated sunflare.
And these are features that work somewhat differently due to the format's limitations:
-Large lightning strikes will occur only 4 times per night, and will be animated much more slowly.
-Small lightning strikes will not be visible with Skyboxify, as these are animated sky elements, which Skyboxify doesn't support.
-The Northern star is positioned directly at the horizon, which makes it impossible to see, unless you're at Y>=320.
-Light pollution will only occur at full moon.
-The sun and moon are not properly integrated into the sky layers, which means they will be rendered in front of everything else.
    • Light version: There is a lightweight version of the pack available for download. These versions are set to "beta" release type. Please read their changelogs and check their dependencies. Again, if more than one dependency is listed for a version, you only need one of them.
    FYI
    • Currently the Nether skies do not work with Nuit.
    • To check out the many features of the pack, I've provided a text file in the pack that has instructions.
    • If you want to disable certain featues of the pack, get Respackopts and use the gizmo in the pack selection screen. Note that if you use Celestial 2.0, the in-game chat will show error messages, but you can ignore those. Alternatively, you can follow the instructions in the text file inside the pack. (this method will not cause error messages to appear)
    • Celestial 2.0 requires core shaders to have smooth transitions between different sky layers, which is implemented as a pack overlay in the latest release. Since pack overlays only work from 1.20.2 and above, if you're playing on a version below that, you need to copy the "shaders" folder from "celestial/assets/minecraft/" to "assets/minecraft/".
    Shaders

This pack does of course work with shaders, but since each shader works differently and has different settings, you will most likely need to tweak them to get a good look.

    Snow clouds
    (play video)

    Lightning strikes
These will appear throughout the night when there is a thunderstorm.
    (play video)

    High altitude clouds
These will give you an "at the edge of space" experience if you go above Y=256. I recommend a render distance of about 8-10 for the best effect.
    (play video)

    Rainbow
These will appear after a weather event (rain or thunder).
Hyper Realistic Sky Minecraft Texture Pack
    Iridescent clouds
These will happen occasionally during sunsets.

    Noctilucent clouds
These will appear at sunrise in snowy biomes after a meteor shower.

    Asperitas clouds
    Low and high altitude variants:

    Mammatus clouds
    Low and high altitude variants:

    Fiery Sunsets
These will happen occasionally in temperate biomes such as plains or forests. Low and high altitude variants:

    Sandstorms
These will appear during weather in deserts, savannas and mesa biomes.
    (play video)

    Tornadoes

You'll see these periodically sweep through the sky during the afternoon.
    (play video)

    High altitude:

    Supercell
    Low and high altitude variants:

    Total Solar Eclipse

This will occur once every 25 days.

    (play video)

    Blood Moon / Blue Moon
These will happen occasionally during the night.

    Gas giants
Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn will orbit the sky. These sky objects are affected by light pollution, so during full Moon they will not be visible at all, and during new Moon they will be fully visible.

    Auroras
These will appear at night in cold biomes at new Moon.
    Low and high altitude variants:

    Northern Star
As in real life, the night sky will appear to be rotating around the Northern Star.
(right click video -> loop, and play)
    Shooting Stars
These will appear throughout the night.
    (play video)
    Meteor shower
This will happen at new Moon near the end of the night. (play video)

    Black hole
A black hole will be visible during the night. This sky object is affected by light pollution, so during full Moon it will not be visible at all, and during new Moon it will be fully visible.

    Andromeda
The Andromeda galaxy will be visible in the night sky. This sky object is affected by light pollution, so during full Moon it will not be visible at all, and during new Moon it will be fully visible.

    Light pollution
Depending on the Moon phase, the Milky way and other celestial objects, such as the black hole, gas giants and the Andromeda galaxy will become less visible to imitate light pollution.
(right click video -> loop, and play)

    Outer Space
If you stand at the top of the world, it'll be like being in outer space. I recommend a render distance of about 8-10 for the best effect.
    (play video)

    Hurricane
These will happen during thunderstorms at certain times.
    Low and high altitude variants:

    Outer space variant:
    Main End island
    Custom End flash
    Unique End biome skies
    Outer End biomes:

In addition, an animated black hole will be visible in the sky (play video)

    Nether skies
These skies will only show up above the bedrock ceiling for obvious reasons.

Nether Wastes and Crimson Forest: (also modded nether biomes)

Warped Forest and Soul Sand Valley:

    Basalt Deltas:

    Nether high altitude

This sky will appear if you go near the build limit in the Nether.

    Proper Sky layers
The clouds will properly block out the stars and other sky elements such as the Moon, gas giants, the black hole and the Andromeda galaxy, which gives a much greater sense of depth to the clouds, rather than being all transparent, like most other sky packs.

    Seamless fog
Each sky has the proper fog color configured, to make sure the transition between the sky and the terrain is always as seamless as possible.

    Biome mods support
As of version 2.4 and above, the pack now supports any and all biome mods, both Overworld and End biome mods.

    Respackopts support
    Vanilla support
A separate version is available for download for the vanilla game, that does not require any mods to work.

These versions are set to "Alpha" release type on Modrinth and Curseforge, so you can easily tell them apart from the main pack versions.

Thanks to Csala Bálint for providing the template pack.

Is it the case that this resource pack (and the mods that is required) are not distant horizon compatible? I just want to check because when I turned on rendering for the DH, the screen goes black. Or is this caused by some other mod I have installed?
