1.21 — OptiFine Required

When playing on my survival world, I noticed that trying to fill in a map in a desert biome is unnecessarily hard. The color of the sand is almost the exact same as the map! So, I made this resource pack that fixes maps.


Sand: Sand has became darker so as to be more identifiable!

Grass and Foliage: Grass and Foliage looked too dry to me so I made it look a little more lush!

Water: Water appears much too dark purple for my liking so I considered making it a little more blue!

Can you make maps that show larger areas of the world than the ones in the game since i have a 20,000 x 20,000 world and i already made 400 maps and it’s not even close to covering a small area of the world.

You can add paper to the maps using the cartography table to increase their size.

Sadly, that is beyond the abilities of resource packs, maybe a data pack, or a mod could do it. But have you tried zooming out all the way on the maps?

Could make a before/after screenshot? I would consider downloading, but I can't really tell a difference without a reference. :P

Good idea! I have now done that. As you can see from the third image in the gallery if there are desert hills it become hard to hell if there is an incline in sand or just empty space. In my survival world I had a maxed 2048x2048 map that I filled in and noticed many empty spaces in the desert which lead me to make this pack.
