There's a bug with the hands on zombies. Specifically, when zombies with variations spawn, they don't have their hands, but the regular zombie has hands. This bug only occurs with regular zombies with variations; husk zombies don't have this issue.

Oh, how it happened. By any chance do you use Optifine?

If yes, then i have solution that might help:

Options -> Video Settings -> Quality -> Custom Entity Models: ON
