The new pack is called "Mythos". It's a WIP (will take a while cuase I want to do everything) and is based off of the writings of HP Lovecraft and the creations spawned from them. It will have a few stories and mobs to go with, starter maps, the works!!

New storyline started with many parts and a mob/item released in each part!

Judging by the thread on MC forums work is ongoing but Minecraft is currently updating pretty fast and a pack like this probably takes a lot of time and care to get the feel just right.
It says on the MC forum thread the pack is almost at 1.1 level but with the snapshots coming out so fast and everyone already looking past 1.1 I'd imagine the goal now is to just overshoot that and go straight for a 1.2 version... I think a lot of texture pack artists are feeling the pressure atm.
I played with this pack for a long time, it's awesome and I'd love to see it updated for 1.2 if at all possible.Imagine what the Iron Golem could look like in this pack. O.O
We'll just have to wait and hope.
