**Examples are given in the folders with the crosshair file**

Locate the zip file of the resource pack you want to change the crosshairs for. This is usually located under your user
profile folder.

e.g. Windows 7,8,8.1, and 10:
c:\users\[USERNAME]\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks\

e.g. GNU/Linux:
/home/[USERFOLDER]/.minecraft/resourcepacks/

Once located, you will want to open the .zip file with a compression program
like 7-zip or WinRaR.

Locate the folder named "gui" (this can be found under the "/assets/minecraft/textures/" folder)

There are two files you will want:

icons.png
widgets.png

Extract these files to a safe place and use copies of them to edit so as to still
have the original ones.

Open the files with your image editing program. I recommend the free software program, GIMP, which can be
found at "www.gimp.org".

Now all you have to do is replace what is there with the crosshairs I have supplied,
save the .png files, and then re-introduce them into the zip file of the resource pack where you had
recieved the original ones.

Enjoy.

And may the Peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you!

Additional Notes

The 64x64 version of the icons.png and widgets.png are from the "Faithful" texture pack... so you may not want to use that on yours!
